I am Diane Howard and I am the Author of THE CROSS ROAD series that is available on Amazon.com. I do not have a picture uploaded, as I prefer to remain anonymous; my author's name is a pseudonym. I am originally from Chicago Illinois. I grew up in Roger's Park, a municipality in Chicago, and later moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. Originally an entertainer, I was a jazz vocalist who traveled the country with several prominent bands. I had my own group in Chicago for over fifteen years. At the age of nineteen, I was introduced to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I grew up in a religious organization, but they did not follow Christ's true Gospel. I was fearful of God's judgment not knowing that I could truly be forgiven and receive eternal life. I discovered in my newfound faith, a God who loved me despite His knowing all the rebellion in me and the bad things I had done. He took the punishment for me in the person of Jesus Christ even though he knew that I might reject this gift. I found out that all of the things I thought I needed for a happy productive life could be lost by a loss of a loved one; an unstable economy or a natural disaster. I learned that total surrender and putting God first is the key to growing in Christ. Through it all, God had never left me and I am now walking with Him more than fifty years later. He has never let me down. He doesn't always answer my prayers in the way I might prefer, but as Romans 8:28 says

28 We are assured and know that [God being a partner in their labor] all things work together and are [fitting into a plan] for good to and for those who love God and are called according to [His] design and purpose.
I have spent more than thirty years in Las Vegas with a church that is eager to reach out to people who were just like me. I was a Lay Counselor for nine years and a Women of the Word facilitator for around ten years. I am also a former Grief-share Counselor and have been a trained facilitator in the Freedom in Christ Ministries under Dr. Neil Anderson. . This program is referred to in my book series, THE CROSS ROAD. I am currently working with sex-trafficking victims at a local safe house. I am blogging to further expand on the issues that are brought up in my book.
The characters in my series are fictional, but what they go through and how they walk isn't. I hope their stories illustrate the "Way" that we should walk in after accepting Christ as Lord and Savior. My heart is for those who come to Christ, yet find it hard to understand what their new identity is, what their attitude should be, or how to hear from and follow the Holy Spirit. These fictional characters, I hope, will bring this to life for my readers. so that they may have some questions answered from these stories. Jesus loved to tell stories and parables and I believe that is because they are timeless and reach down through the ages to touch people where they live. I admire greatly the new Christian film-makers because what they put on the screen gives feet to the word of God if they are faithful to present it as God wrote it. This is the goal of THE CROSS ROAD series.. I hope you enjoy it and that God touches your heart and that if you already know Christ, helps you to grow into the fulness of our Lord.
