God-Confidence-Self-Confidence

WHO YOU WERE OR WHO YOU ARE?

2 Corinthians 5:17-18 (AMP)
17 Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!
18 But all things are from God, Who through Jesus Christ reconciled us to Himself [received us into favor, brought us into harmony with Himself] and gave to us the ministry of reconciliation [that by word and deed we might aim to bring others into harmony with Him].

You may not think highly of yourself, but God does.  He has accepted you, so who are you to disagree with Him.  Initially, we must see in reality that without Christ, we are miserable broken sinners.  Without that knowledge and a willingness to turn from our broken way, we cannot be saved. However,  the Apostle Paul tells us, “And such were some of you.” ( 1Cor 6:11) We are no longer these things, because of Christ.

Before Christ, our sins hung on us like a filthy garment year after year.  In Christ, however, the New Believer is  clothed with Christ’s righteousness.  If we speak negatively about ourselves, regarding our state of Grace, we are disagreeing with God.  God sees what we are becoming and not what we were.   Our part is to believe God and act accordingly.  So, if your flesh or Satan lures you into complaint or jealousy, making you feel less than, then go ahead and agree! And then attack the false idea behind this lure, by speaking everything in the form of thanksgiving.  Father, I thank you that Christ clothes my wretched sinful self so that I am accepted by you.  That is truth. Then move on;  Father, I thank you that I have your strength, wisdom and power in Christ Jesus to accomplish the things you want me to do!   God tells us that we have, through the Holy Spirit, access to the mind of Christ.  (1 Cor 2:16)   Thank you Father that as I trust in Christ, He will give me the answers I need

The old nature does not apply here…we have been born again!   I encourage you to search more Scriptures that pertain to your situations and personal issues and apply them as you would a sword.   Just remember, the enemy might be you.   Agree with God that He has made a wonderful new creation…then live it out in obedience.   The communication of your faith is made effectual by acknowledging that every good thing in you came through Christ Jesus, and not by who you were naturally.  Focus on Him…not your past.
